| posted 01-20-13 16:39 ET (US) I put the game in, the little window pops up, I click install and nothing happens. I have tried right clicking setup, clicking run as admin and have tried everything from Windows XP (SP3) Down to 98/Me under compatibility. Still won't install. I read somewhere there is a 'crack' of some sort that will make the game install/run on Windows 7, but I cannot find such a thing. I really, really want to play this game on my new computer and I'm at my wits end to get it to even install! Please help me! Thank you. | |

Regarding installing the game: Make sure your antivirus is disabled, then start the installation and when nothing happens, try leave your computer like that for a few hours without using it. Some people have had luck when they returned, that the game had started to install. In worst case and if you can afford it, the game including Poseidon is available at gog.com for US$ 9.99. I just used the tips on the GOG site and currently, the games are installing, however, we'll see if I can play them. Crosses fingers. If not, I may just break down and buy the $9.99 version from GOG. Thank you for your quick response and sorry for mentioning a 'crack'. Won't happen again. |
| posted 01-29-13 09:39 ET (US) 3 / 13 I have it running on Windows 7 & Vista with no issues, if you have User Account Control (UAC) turned on in yr security settings turned on it may cause some programs not to install - Just a thought. Also check that your computer specifications are compatible with the software as I found sometimes a program will not even try to install due to not meeting the requirements. I would think that Zeus would play on most computers these days tho. I found this which might be of use to you which is about installing Zeus on Win7 & Vista with UAC. | posted 05-21-13 07:09 ET (US) 8 / 13 Think before installing about exploring the CD and set install.exe and setup.exe in win 2000 compatibility and administrator mode . After instalation , set the installed exe whith the same settings . Installed Sierra games on dozens of computers whith various OS , no problem if following this . |

Tried compatibility mode, tried run as admin, installed the patches.. it shows it running in task manager, but there is no physical game. If I click the 'setup' on the CD and hit play, nothing happens either. There has to be a way to make this work! |
| posted 07-16-13 03:25 ET (US) 10 / 13 Sometimes people having the problem with the game not starting but they can see it running in Task Manager, have luck simply leaving the computer like that for up to 2 hours without using the computer for anything else. | posted 07-30-14 10:53 ET (US) 11 / 13 I was having this problem and I searched for a solution but I think I finally found one. to install the program, first create a new user account with administrator privileges then INSTALL the GAME from the newly created user account. After this you can delete the user account that was created. This worked for me and I hope it works for you too. Cheers |
| posted 03-02-15 18:54 ET (US) 12 / 13 ive got a solution to the problem which worked on my pc. im using win 7 64 bit. - i installed a virtual machine like oracle vm virtual box. - then i installed windows xp. - then i installed zeus master of olympus in the virtual system. -then i copied the installed game-folder to my win 7 system. (instead you can use another computer with xp installed). - then i started the installation of the expansion poseidon from my win 7. - this installation file works. you need to tell the install wizard (if it asks) where the zeus-master of olympus folder is and than it installs the expansion. - i had no problems with starting the expansion game then. ingame you can choose if you want to play normal zeus or expansion enjoy :-) [This message has been edited by ramown (edited 03-02-2015 @ 06:55 PM).] |

| posted 12-14-15 15:33 ET (US) 13 / 13 Install Zeus in safe mode solved the problem for me. Run 'msconfig' select safe mode and restart your PC. After that manually run setup from the cd and install. When install is finished (assuming this works for you) run 'msconfig' again and deselect safe mode, restart and enjoy. Hope it helps |
